I see that the council is keen to reduce pollution and combat climate change in the city, with the possibility of Little London car park being used for street trading.

An obvious solution here is to turn this car park, and possibly Baffin’s Lane too, into one for electric/hybrid vehicles only, with street trading allowed at defined areas and times.

This would ensure that only non-polluting vehicles come into the city centre.

The car park should have adequate re-charging points and drivers would be able to use the businesses in the city during the charging period. This way, everyone wins and it could be enhanced further if there were a way of providing re-charging or parking at a lower-than-normal cost to drivers. I think such a scheme could also boost the sales of electric cars in this area, as residents who mainly make local journeys would probably find that an electric car is sufficient for their needs.

Alongside this, I assume that there would also have to be limited access granted for disabled drivers’ petrol and diesel vehicles to this central car park. Have a think about it Chichester council.
