This was an opportunity for the boys at the school to show the MP their great school and showcase some of the things of which they are most proud.

This included a visit to the engineering department, a chance for the MP to join in with their Samba drumming, a demonstration of the innovative and confident way in which they use the newest technology and the excellence of their Catering course. He also popped into some Year 11 English lessons and a Year 8 Maths lesson.

Jeremy proved himself an outstanding guest: he was happy to be subjected to a Q&A session with the school’s Pupil Senior Leadership, ably led by the Head Boy, Sam Jewell.

He chatted happily with a range of pupils, all of whom found him very engaging and interesting to talk to. The visit ended with a presentation of a birthday cake to the MP, made by the catering pupils, who were very impressed that he gave up his birthday to visit their school!
