Multiple Sclerosis charity marks 60th birthday

The Horsham branch of the MS Society is 2013 is the 60th anniversary for the MS Society in the United Kingdom, and many events will take place during the year to raise awareness of the work done by the MS Society.

We will be having a series of collections this year to help fund our local branch in Horsham, and to contribute as much as we can to our Head Office for research and development into Multiple Sclerosis, Currently there is no cure for MS, but there is continual research for drugs to modify the disease and hopefully a cure will be found in the not too distant future,

The Horsham and Crawley Branch hold weekly exercise and relaxation classes each Friday at St Mark’s Church Hall in North Heath Lane, Horsham between 10am and 12pm. The Drop in Centre is open on the first Wednesday of every month at the Methodist Church Hall in London Road, Horsham between 2pm and 4pm. These two events are of vital importance, offering support and help to all who have one of the different forms of Multiple Sclerosis.

Everyone is welcome including partners, carers, family and friends.

We also have an ‘Idle Chatter Group’, which meet informally at regular intervals. For further information please contact Sarah Tennyson on 01403 263793.

The branch is run by a wonderful group of volunteers, and we also have a dedicated MS Nurse who is a lifeline between MS sufferers and their Neurologist. Our aim is to give everyone an improved quality of life.

It is difficult to ask for support during these times of austerity, but we would be most grateful for any help with our quest to eradicate this distressing condition.
