No to heavy metal

HAVING always loved Littlehampton, we decided to retire here 12 years ago, because of its natural, unspoilt beauty, lovely riverside and decent bus service.

The proposed wrought iron seat along the front, not approved by most of us, is going ahead.

Now, we are told that our sensible wooden shelters are going to be replaced with wrought iron shelters.

What was wrong with the old shelters, that protect day-trippers from unexpected torrential rain?

Don't we want to encourage day-trippers, who also support our dying town?

As it is, us residents with no transport have lost access to the West Beach.

There are so many other attractions we could have spent our money on, such as a bandstand that would give our young musicians a chance to show us their talents, and give us old 'uns, unable to get around easily, so much pleasure.
