Pancake thanks

ON behalf of Littlehampton Players Operatic Society (LPOS), I would like to thank the organisers of Littlehampton’s Pancake Olympics for running the event with such good humour and efficiency.

The atmosphere in the town centre was full of fun and the competition was well supported by local teams representing a variety of business and leisure interests. Even the rain was scheduled for later in the afternoon when it was all over! This was our first venture into Operatic Olympics, taking time in between rehearsals for our next musical, to appear as the Godspell Squad. We were thrilled that our Jimmy Lynch was awarded silver for his amazing aerobatic 43 flips. His feat was glimpsed on Meridian TV’s news that day, a picture of champion concentration!

Although Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society (LMCS) did very well at this event, Jimmy took the honour of the silver as a member of the LPOS Godspell Squad, and not LMCS, as reported in the Gazette (February 23) – a simple misprint, no doubt.

LPOS members are currently rehearsing for Godspell at the end of April at the Windmill Theatre, Littlehampton, where Jimmy will be singing All Good Gifts and acting in the role of Lamar.
