Parochial service for international Ashford station
It seems we shall have, some time in the not-quite-defined future, a very fast train service to London.

Hide AdIf I recall correctly, the service will terminate at King’s Cross, which is not somewhere many travellers from Bexhill or Hastings need to go on a daily basis.
Much of the time saved on the train will then be lost trekking to other more useful parts of London.
It might not happen, of course. Bear in mind politicians’ promises and the possibility that HS2 could gobble up the entire transport budget for the rest of the century.

A service running between one of the biggest and busiest towns in the region and a station which calls itself ‘international’ has only two carriages.
On my many trips on this service on different days and at different times it has always, but always, been overcrowded.
