Persistence pays
Congratulations to councillor Mike Northeast for persuading West Sussex County Council to proceed urgently with constructing the pedestrian crossing of the A259 to the Morrisons superstore at Wick (Gazette, October 3).
His success shows what can be achieved by a dedicated, conscientious councillor, with the active support of publicity in the Gazette, against an otherwise indifferent officialdom, and helps to restore faith in our local democracy.
