School should not close

Of course Mountfield & Whatlington COE School should not be closed.

Those of us who have known the school over the years have always found it a good school both academically and socially, with the teaching staff hard working and committed.

We had a failed Ofsted and then into Special Measures, everyone involved at the school was shocked and could not understand what had gone wrong.

However the school has been gradually improving with the last interim Ofsted inspection being very encouraging and recent exam results good.

All schools suffer from time to time with fluctuating numbers and there is no reason to doubt that the pupil numbers will increase, especially with all the proposed new housing.

Our small village school must remain open for future village children especially with the amount of tax payers money that has been spent on the school over the last two years.
