Sadly, Terry’s wife died about three years ago at St Barnabas House. The family have since raised a lot of money for the hospice in recognition of the wonderful care that Mrs Gould received.

Terry has just published ‘Adventure in the Snow’, the second of his four-part series of short stories for children aged between 3 – 7 years old, on sale in aid of both hospices.

The first book, called ‘The Seaside Adventure’, has sold well since its publication in the summer, with the project raising almost £5,000 so far.

Terry is funding all the publishing and promotional costs himself, enabling all the sales revenue to benefit both St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House directly.

‘Adventure in the Snow’ features the same two characters as in the first book, Peter and Poppy, who worry about where the sheep in the far field have gone when it starts to snow.

You see the sheep are white and the snow is white and they are nowhere to be seen. As it was Saturday and there was no school, Peter decided to go out and try to find them because they might be lost and also very cold and hungry out there in the snow. And so the adventure begins!

With Christmas approaching Terry says that there is no better time to go out and buy a copy of the book for your children, grandchildren, nieces and/or nephews and to give them something that they can really enjoy for years to come, as well as supporting this amazing cause.

Terry recently read the story for the first time in public to a group of young children at Elan Nursery, Steyning. Teacher Maria Goldsmith said: “We are pleased to help support this lovely little book as it is such a worthy cause.”

Terry said: “The children were enthralled – their faces were a joy to see. The main purpose of this project is to raise money for Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House hospices, but it is also gives me great pleasure to know that so many young children are now enjoying my stories.”

‘Adventure in the Snow’ is now available to buy from all St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House retail shops and from the St Barnabas House reception. Copies can also be ordered from the author directly: [email protected] / 01903 879185.

The cost of each book is £4.50 (plus postage if you would like it delivered). Terry will also sign copies if you would like him to, free of charge. It is also possible to pre-order copies of the remaining two books in the series for those that would like to.

A few extra words of encouragement from Terry:

The wintry nights are getting near

As we conclude another year

So give your kids that wintry glow

Reading my book
