Should village swap Rother for Kent?

COUNCILLOR Starnes’ response to Councillor Prochak’s concerns about parking in Robertsbridge was as arrogant and dismissive as we have come to expect from a council which seems to consider rural Rother, with all its ancient, historic towns and villages, to be no more than ‘the hinterland of Bexhill’.

Could we, perhaps, declare independence from Rother District Council and ally ourselves with neighbouring areas of East Sussex and/or Kent with which we have far more in common than we do with the 20th Century conurbation of Bexhill?
