Simply too many

I can’t believe what l have been hearing regarding a plan to build a Marks & Spencer Simply Food store beside the A259 at Angmering – as Gerry Jenkinson said (Gazette letters, December 11), we have enough of them.

When the old Focus DIY store nearby closed down, there were rumours going round then about Marks & Spencer going there, so l emailed M & S and said if they were going there, please, no more food stores, and if they had done market research in the area they would have found out that a clothes shop for the family would have been welcomed with open arms. They replied with no comment.

Don’t these business people do market research? Wouldn’t that save a lot of time and money to find out what this area really needs? And if they are going to do food why don’t they go into the old, empty Co-op at Rustington? This would be more accessible to the many elderly residents who don’t drive.
