ST CATHERINE'S: Competent '“ not nice '“ is the point

FURTHER to the article (Gazette, May 31), Mr Lenkiewicz was headmaster up to the Ofsted inspection and only went absent when Ofsted delivered a damning report on the school management.

Since he has been absent the school has made dramatic improvements under the leadership of the two locum headteachers who have worked incredibly hard to begin the improvement to the education of the children as the school.

I know '” my son is a pupil.

The parents have not got a lynch mob mentality.

The issue is not whether Mr Lenkiewicz is a nice man '” it is whether he can do the job he is employed to do.

As a parent of a nine-year-old boy, I do not want to take the risk of my child or the other pupils attending St Catherine's School having another three years of ineffectual monitoring of Mr Lenkiewicz, which failed to deliver results in the past.

Do not gamble with our children's education.

"Every Child Matters" is the local education authority's policy.
