The problems with speeding on certain roads in Hastings as referred to by Karin Reynolds in last week’s paper (28th August) is nothing new.

I recall a letter published in the Observer some 50 years ago which went something along the lines - ‘if you want to see the rest of the world pass you by, try driving up St Helen’s Road at 30mph’!
