Still no solution


The Balfour Declaration and Sykes-Picot Agreement are something that devolved from the First World War that people today tend to ignore. They related to the whole Middle East and not merely the former Palestine.
A once well-known Jew living in East Preston was a ‘good Christian’, as the saying goes. But he no doubt recognised that only a small minority of people in Palestine were of that religion 100 years ago.

Hide AdThe Palestine question was not settled in 1948, with Israel recognised as a state. We ought to refer to the area as Palestine-Israel until there is a new partition, or one-state solution.
We may have to wait a long time.
