This Saturday, July 13, staff and residents at Care South’s Sussexdown care home in Storrington are inviting their friends, families and the local community to come along and celebrate the summer at their annual summer fayre.

Between 2pm and 4.30pm, there will be activities for all the family, including a visit from Tony Spaghetti, a balloon twister and magician, who crafts animals out of balloons and wows audiences with a range of magic tricks. A Queen Elizabeth I impersonator will also be attending the event, accompanied by her courtiers.

Visitors will be able to browse a range of stalls, offering everything from tombola and raffles to fresh produce, homemade cakes and jams. Refreshments will include burgers, hot dogs and ice cream and afternoon teas will be served throughout the afternoon.

Heather Rogers, Home Manager at Care South’s Sussexdown Country House Care home, said: “Our summer fete is a real highlight of the year for staff and residents and we’re really grateful to the Friends of Sussexdown charity for all their help with organising the event and making it such a special day.

“This year we’ve got a huge variety of games and stalls for all the family. The money we raise will go towards the residents’ Amenity Fund, which enables us to run activities for our residents. We hope to see as many people as possible supporting this fantastic cause.”

The Sussexdown summer fayre is organised by the Friends of Sussexdown Committee, who raise money to provide entertainment for residents, including live music, day trips out, and Christmas and birthday presents for the residents of Sussexdown.
