Take action on rail service

Some years ago it was not possible for Bexhillians to travel directly by train to London one weekend.

Our then local MP Greg Barker, said it should not happen again. Unfortunately, it will happen again on the weekend of February 20/21.

There are no direct services to London from Bexhill via Eastbourne or Ashford. There is also engineering work on the Hasting to London line.

I am not aware that there was any consultations between Railtrack, responsible for the engineering work, and the train operating companies.

As a result of this failure Bexhillians have no direct rail line to London.

Instead they face journeys in excess of two hours and 15 minutes and more.

What action does our local MP proposes to take to ensure it never happens again?
