The Swim-a-thon will take place at Billingshurst Leisure Centre, which has disabled access, on Saturday 7 February between 4pm and 8pm.

Each team will swim for two hours and the winners will be those who swim the most lengths – with each member swimming at least two lengths doggy paddle.

This challenge is open to all age-groups and abilities, although swimmers must be able to swim at least two lengths and under 16’s must have consent from an adult.

Holly Bryan, events and challenge co-ordinator at the Charity, said: “The Swim-a-thon is a fun event and great for anyone looking for a challenge.

“All we ask is that each team of swimmers raises a minimum sponsorship of £250 for Canine Partners, to celebrate 25 years since it started in 1990.”

Canine Partners is dedicated to transforming the lives of people with physical disabilities by training amazing dogs to help with everyday tasks they would otherwise find difficult, painful or impossible including opening doors, undressing, pressing buttons, and emergency response. The dogs increase independence, confidence and provide loving companionship.
