Thanks for clean-up after landmark loss

MANY East Preston residents will have been saddened by the storm damage done to the fig tree by the village hall during the early hours of Thursday morning.

This tree had long been a landmark within the village.

On behalf of the parish council, I would like to thank the West Sussex County Council Highway Rangers for their very prompt response in attending the site, removing the broken half of the tree, and clearing the footpath and the obstruction to traffic that the fallen section represented.

Without the efforts of the rangers, one of the busiest roads in the village would have suffered throughout the day.
