The Probus Club of Horsham & District is for active retired men with a background in business, commerce, industry or the public sector and aims to promote informal fellowship and companionship amongst its members.

The clubs meets on the first Thursday of each month between 9.30 am and Noon pm at Southwater Sports Club in Church Lane, the more formal part of the meeting is followed by an optional lunch when a cash bar is also available.

At each meeting, after a lively business session to discuss forthcoming events, previous activities and news from members, a speaker will give a presentation. Recent talks have been on Spies in Petticoats, the history of Hop Picking in Kent, Canine Partners and the work of the Horsham’s Green Gym.

In addition to the regular meetings, a Club a walk led by one of its members takes place each month invariably concluding with lunch at a local hostelry.

Club members also promote frequent trips, outings and theatre visits and it is on these that wives and partners are invited and form a key part of the success of club’s activities.
