Unmitigated mess

I AM lucky I live on the seafront on the east side of Bexhill. I look out onto a simply beautiful flower display which has a lovely scent when you walk past it.

Not so fortunate are the poor souls who live down the other end of the seafront.

I have never seen such an unmitigated mess in all my life, and as for the farcical blots on the landscape that are supposed to be shelters, I despair

As I have spelt out before, to shelter is to protect. How can a monstrosity which has large open spaces on every wall be remotely described as a shelter?

Also there’s an equally large hole in the roof letting in everything a shelter is supposed to keep out - rain, snow, fog, winds - everything in fact that the sea front throws at us.

And how may I ask are people in wheelchairs supposed to get in?.

Some wag at the council proudly announced that 30-something people could be squashed in these monstrosities at one time.

We don’t want mass collection points for people, we want peace and quiet.

As for the rest of the front, once unattended children are let loose it will be an accident waiting to happen. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

Perhaps some bright spark in the near future may come up with a bright, popular solution?

I know, how about beautiful flower beds, confortable seats and shelters that actually do the job?

Then perhaps we will feel our money is not disappearing down a bottomless pit.
