Venues well-used

I FEEL that after reading all the letters, comments and the poem in last week’s edition about the possible closure of the Windmill and the Tamarisk Centre, it’s about time Arun District Council stopped wasting money on outside agencies to decide the fate of local people’s lives and start using the council’s own, well-paid staff.

If Nigel Lynn the chief executive got involved in making some of the decisions within Arun, he would get to meet the local people and understand what the people of Arun would really like, and would not be wasting taxpayers’ money on these outside agencies.

If Arun really wants to save money, the council could start a bit closer to home with its offices, with lights on all hours of the day and night at the cost to the local tax payers.

I hope that Arun does not close either the Windmil or the Tamarisk, as they are well used and needed in the area.
