Village at war

With 2014 near at hand, it may be assumed that thought has been given to the commemoration of the centenary of the Great War, 1914-18.

Towns and parishes, and various organisations, are likely to mark the occasion in some fashion, in the same way that Second World War anniversaries were commemorated.

Having already written some account of that period, relating to the villages and parishes of East Preston and Kingston, it is my intention to update the account with any more significant information that may come to hand, not only with respect to those who died in the war, but also the village itself at that period.

Much of this work has been put in hand.

A small edition will be printed economically, probably in A5 format, and in the order of 128 pages.

If anyone has knowledge of the two villages, and of those commemorated, and is prepared to forward this to me fairly immediately, it will be used appropriately.
