As part of an ongoing commitment to the charity, Savills Rural teams are about to set off on another mission - attempting to cover 5,000 miles in a week, from September 14 to 18, to raise £100,000.

The charity aims to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside, while gaining a greater understanding of the wider range of issues surrounding it.

Across the south east region, teams from the company’s Maidstone, Petworth and Haywards Heath offices aim to raise as much money as possible, visiting clients, estates and rural landmarks along the way.

They will be taking part in a number of events during the week, including a 5.5 mile run or cycle from Chichester to West Dean on Monday, a six mile walk starting and finishing at Knepp Castle on Tuesday, and a three mile walk around Petworth Park on Wednesday.

On Friday there will be a 40 mile cycle ride from Parham Park, near Storrington, via Petworth to Goodwood House.

Ben Wood , from Savills incorporating Smiths Gore, said: “Countryside Learning is a very important charity and it is great to be part of an event that not only helps to raise money, but means we can enjoy our beautiful countryside along the way.”

Gary Richardson, Chief Executive, Countryside Learning, adds: “Thanks to the amazing support Savills have given us over the last few years we now run 50 events across the country. Every year, thanks to Savills staff and clients generosity over 25,000 children begin their understanding of British countryside and appreciate the work and skill of those who manage it for us and literally put the food on our table.”
