Wallet returned

SOME days before Christmas, I was shopping in Rustington and lost my wallet.

I enquired at the shops I had visited to no avail, and thought that that was the end of that.

The week before Christmas I got home from another shopping trip and there on the door-mat was my wallet!

I was overjoyed, as there it was, with all contents intact.

The finder left no identification for me to thank them directly.

This kind person who delivered it to my home took the trouble to come from quite a distance as I live in Clapham village.

They could have had no idea that the wallet had such sentimental value to me and I am so grateful to them.

I wonder if I might express my gratitude through your columns and would like to give the contents of the wallet to a charitable institution. It is a heart-warming thought that there is such honesty amongst us when we hear so often of the reverse.
