We have paid in for years

This government is extremely good at only telling us half the story. For example, they made a big splash about the new state pension of £155 per week. I wish '“ seems only a section of people are going to be lucky.

Anyone already on our meagre state pension will remain on it.

I have just fallen foul of another cut that I have heard nothing about which will affect many in Bexhill.

I make no apologies for getting older much as I would love to turn back the tide. The present generation love to talk about our benefits i.e. pension and NHS payments, over 40 years in a lot of cases.

Some services are obviously more used as we age, for example eye tests, hearing tests etc, so I was gobsmacked when phoning to make my yearly specs test – I was told I could no longer have a yearly test.

I have developed cataracts and need to keep a eye on them, excuse the pun. I can have a test but if there is no change then I have to pay!

Not I admit a huge amount but its the principle. We have paid in for many, many years and now when we need to use what we have paid for it is taken away, how fair is that?

Just thought people should be warned.
