Whatever happened to ‘an Englishman’s word is his bond’?

t was sad to see Caroline Ansell parroting the government line in her piece concerning the Internal Market Bill.

I don’t know what part of the EU Withdrawal Agreement it was that
our Prime Minister and Caroline Ansell didn’t understand.

At the time there was massive media coverage of the fact that the EU was determined to protect its internal single market.

Thus, in order to avoid a border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland and hence protect
the Good Friday Agreement, it would be necessary in effect to move the border
to the Northern Ireland coast in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

This is what Boris Johnson solemnly signed up to just nine months ago.

For him and Caroline Ansell to say now that this is something they don’t want to accept is at best hypocritical and at worst illegal and in terribly bad faith.
