Where was the grit?

I JUST have to vent my anger. On Thursday, following heavy snow, I was walking over to my local store when I saw a snow plough clearing the council office car park, with several council workmen in attendance.

You can imagine my anger at this, with our footpaths and roads having been left totally ungritted or cleared.

One asks what happened to all the snowploughs and great stockpile of grit which one of our local councillors told a television news programme on Monday were available if frost or snow struck again.

It’s time the British public regained some backbone and stood up to these waste-of-money pen-pushers. There are too many jobs-for-the-boys types in the public sector, all of them overpaid and grossly underworked.

Where’s the sense in the National Health Service paying out to repair broken bones caused by falling on these dangerous iced-up paths?
