In support of the charity, team members swapped their usual uniforms for school ties and pigtails, while encouraging loyal customers to fill their collection buckets to raise vital funds for the charity.

The team also increased awareness of Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal by giving away a Back To School hamper and store manager Andy Rickman made it a family affair with his wife, Sarah, selling home-made cakes and donated books.

Andy said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the goodwill of team members and customers alike during our Back To School event. We’re really happy with the total raised and we hope it makes a positive difference to Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal and the families it helps.

“Our team members are very enthusiastic about fundraising for such an important charity and they definitely enjoyed swapping their usual red uniforms for fancy dress!”

Pam Marshall, founder, trustee & secretary at Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal, said: “Donations like this help us to keep our charity going and it’s fantastic to have support from Wilko in Horsham.

“The store team has done a brilliant job once again and every penny raised will go a long way towards providing precious and quality family breaks for those with children suffering from cancer and life limiting illnesses.”
