Wood is an area to be proud of

This approximately two acre wood is a valuable eco-friendly pocket of land providing an excellent place for local people to walk and exercise within easy reach of home without having to use polluting transport to travel to such distances as Egerton Park, Manor Gardens or the seafront. This is an existing amenity not having to be expensively landscaped and planted as is the land around the New Link Road which will forever require expensive upkeep after the area is completed as the land is naturally a wetland.
St. Mary’s Wood is not a derelict brownfield site and it should not be sold off but kept in good condition for local inhabitants who appreciate and love it. The council has funds apparently to provide a potential new swimming pool and leisure centre.

Please do not deny the wishes of responsible local residents who want to pass on to the next generation the amenities they have treasured from those who cared enough to protect St. Mary’s Wood for them.
