Last week, we received the very sad news of the passing of Bognor Regis Town Councillor, Bob Waterhouse.

Bob had served on this council since 2021, and has played an integral role, in part, as Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee. Passionate and with a wealth of knowledge and ‘can do’ attitude, Bob always had the residents of this Town at the forefront of his mind, and strove to make a real impact, which I’m absolutely certain he did. He was a kind and empathetic colleague and friend, always with a smile on his face. His absence will be felt in abundance, at the Town Council. I would like to take this opportunity to pass on our deepest condolences on behalf of Bognor Regis Town Council, to Bob’s wife and family and his many friends. We will miss him dearly.

Bognor Regis Town Council is seeking a versatile and reliable operative to join our dedicated and highly valued Town Force team, in a full-time position. If you enjoy hands-on work, being outdoors, and want to play an active role in enhancing your local community, this could be an ideal position for you.

Our Town Force team works hard to ensure the Town remains clean, safe, and well-presented. In this varied role, you’ll undertake a range of duties, including grounds and horticultural maintenance, carrying out minor repairs, and providing support at local events.

Applications should be made by submitting an application form addressed to the Town Force Manager, Bognor Regis Town Council, The Town Hall, Clarence Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO21 1LD. Applications can also be submitted by e-mail to: [email protected].

The closing date for applying for this role is 9am on Friday 13th March 2026, with interviews anticipated to take place during the week commencing Monday 16th March 2026.

Application forms are available on the Town Council’s website: www.bognorregis.gov.uk or by phoning: 01243 867744. Please note that CVs alone will not be accepted, applicants must complete and return an application form to apply. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our already wonderful Town Force team who do so much to make our Town a better place. If this sounds like the job for you, please do consider applying!

The agenda for the upcoming Annual Town Meeting of Electors has been released this week, with residents of Bognor Regis encouraged to attend to give their input and raise any questions directly with their Town Councillors. We are delighted to be joined by the Area Manager of the new Premier Inn Hotel, which is due to be opening its doors very soon. Those attending can expect to receive a presentation on their plans for the future, and how they anticipate their presence being of benefit to the local community, as well having a chance to ask any questions. The Annual Town Meeting of Electors will be held in the Council Chamber located on the first floor of the Town Hall, on Monday 16th March, starting at 7pm. Doors will be open for residents to arrive from 6.30pm.

As a Member of the Bognor Regis in Bloom Working Group, I’m pleased to announce that this year’s programme of competitions and gardening initiatives are in full swing. The Schools and Nurseries ‘Veg Growing’ competition is now open for applications, and its wonderful news to hear this has had a great uptake already. Thanks to those who have already replied, your free tomato seeds will be on their way to you shortly. If you haven’t quite got round to it yet, there’s still time! Just reply to the email which you hopefully received from our Allotments & In Bloom Committee Clerk, Ingrid Cross, to express your interest: [email protected].
