Memorials should be moved to college

It may not be a coincidence the headline '˜Planning Blunder as Memorial Plaques to War Heroes Removed' appeared under the headline '˜National Park Cost Spiralled'.

It would seem pretty obvious that as the memorials were dedicated to those members of the grammar school who gave their lives in the two world wars, they should be moved to Midhurst Rother College which has inherited the traditions of its forbear.

The memorials have been placed in the entrance hall of the school where they are seen by many every day. During Remembrance Week last year a moving ceremony to commemorate the fallen was held around the memorials and wreaths were laid. Furthermore a collection was made throughout the school to add a generous gift to the Poppy Appeal.

Should the planners retain an interest in the moving of the memorials, I am willing to meet to discuss the matter further.
