Please understand, I am always supportive of most new developments ideas and improvements, and the proposed new post office will no doubt be very effective, but I am extremely concerned about the traffic outside of the new post office. Please let me explain.

This side of the road has all of the shops in it and thus, all of the pedestrians, including wheelchair users and young kids, can be found here - not the other side of the road, where the new post office is planned.
In my view, this is an accident waiting to happen. The traffic lights complex at Silverhill is extremely busy at all times and the A21 is a major trunk road, so how will pedestrians cross the road to the new post office in safety?
Obviously a zebra crossing will be needed but this will only add to the build up we get at this point throughout the day. Without a suitable crossing, there will most definitely be an accident involving pedestrians, so please will the post office see sense and think this through?

While on the subject of Silverhill, can I also request the local traffic people should erect a much more impactful directional sign showing where the A21 goes?
At the moment, a stranger coming up London Road gets to Silverhill complex and they have difficulty in knowing which lane to get into. The one and only sign is a small one about the bank.

That’s it for now.
