Slash cars, not cops

I SEE the usual ostriches have popped their heads out of the sand. This country is the only one taking a positive attitude to tackling its debt problem, and to say that a reduction in the police budget means a reduction of officers does not understand the situation (nothing new there for the ostriches).

I have witnessed a police car drive past a crime in process, as the officer, concentrating on the road, did not see the thieves being pursued by the shop staff.

The reduction should be in the number of vehicles they have, so that they are on their feet patrolling, not cruising around in cars.
