So what's so different to traffic wardens?

I WAS interested in the recent piece of propaganda giving an insight into the duties of Worthing's parking attendants, namely that they now work closely with the police in helping to find stolen vehicles, etc.

I know for fact that old-style traffic wardens did exactly the same thing, helping to catch shoplifters, notifying police of unusual/criminal actions, etc. but the public rarely knew about this or, indeed, cared.

Do NCP and the council honestly believe that we members of the public are going to think any more highly of them because of their "assistance" to the police?

Hopefully not.

Their job is to ticket people and raise money for the council, nothing more, nothing less.

The people of Worthing should have used their recent local election votes to oust the current incumbents and replace them with a different political party; it's no use moaning and then voting the same people straight back into office.

By the way, it can take more than five minutes to purchase a parking voucher, especially if you have people in front of you dithering about with the machine. Or, indeed, if you can't walk very fast!
