Worthing missing out on decisions

COULD someone please explain why we, in Worthing, have no representation at County Hall level on parking issues. (Parking: Think again, County Hall' in the November 19 edition?)

Surely a town this size should have at least one member.

Read the original Herald says article here.

Is it because no-one put themselves forward to be elected or is there another way representatives are chosen?

Perhaps someone from Worthing Borough Council could explain why we have no representatives at County Hall.

I understand there are 71 seats.

It makes no sense why each town is not represented individually.

If we have no representation, how do we hope to convince the County Hall types that our town is in dire need of help after all the bad decision and policy- making of the last few years?

Regarding on-street parking increases, could the proposed increased parking charges be down to sour grapes?

Chichester, after all, was very upset that Worthing kept its hospital and A&E department?

Just a line of thought, but in these days of corrupt politicians and decision-makers anything is possible, so perhaps County Hall thinks that if the Worthing town centre closes due to lack of support, maybe Worthing Hospital will have to be downgraded again, making way for St Richard's to become the main hospital in Sussex.

All comments from councillors, local and county greatly appreciated '“ that is, of course, if any of them know what is actually going on, or indeed, have the courage to keep us, the electorate informed!
