Overwhelming show of grief for tragic Herve

An overwhelming outpouring of grief has been demonstated for tragic Ringmer FC footballer Herve King.

Twenty-seven-year-old Herve died after collapsing 17 minutes into Ringmer's game with Three Bridges at The Caburn on Saturday.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics and helpers to revive him, the Blues player was later pronounced dead after being taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital.

A stream of tributes to Herve has since poured in on various websites.

Three pages worth of comments have been posted on the non-league football forum Nomad Online.

While on the social networking website, Facebook, an astonishing 248 members had by Monday evening already joined a group set up in the player's memory called 'Herve R.I.P.'

Comments left described Herve as, 'One of the nicest people I was ever lucky enough to meet", while other tributes refer to the player as "a great mate and a kind person'.

A common theme running through many of the tributes is the friendly nature of Herve, who worked as a computer analyst '“ and, in particular, his smile.

Danielle wrote, 'I will never forget that laugh of yours!", while Sarah added, "That cheeky smile is still so clear'.

And Roger wrote of "a wonderful man...always smiling, never had a bad word to say about anyone."
