BACK TO SCHOOL: School has started for the Autumn term, good luck to all beginning a new term or starting school for the first time - what a shame the Bank Holiday weather was so bad, we need a bit more summer!

PEASMARSH PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting of Peasmarsh Parish council will be on Tuesday September 8 and not as stated last week - sorry for any confusion! The meeting is held at the Memorial hall at 7.30pm; all Peasmarsh residents are welcome to attend.

FILM CLUB; The Peasmarsh Film Club re-starts next Friday September 11 - membership costs only £20 and allows you to see 10 films throughout the year and you get a say in the choice of films. Please contact Hilary on 01797 230205 for more details.

FILM NIGHT: The first Film Night is on Saturday September 19 at 7.30pm and will be a showing of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Tickets can be booked through Hilary on the phone number shown above.

DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING: We now have a defibrillator installed in the Memorial hall; it will be available for use in an emergency 24 hours a day 7 days a week and will be maintained by Rother Responders, who may even operate it in an emergency.

On Wednesday September 16 at 7pm Rother Responders will be giving a demonstration on how to use the equipment and answering any questions that people may wish to raise; residents are urged to attend this meeting to see how it might save their life or the life of a family member one day.

FLEA MARKET: There will be a Flea Market and Collectors Fair at the hall on Sunday September 20, 9am until 2pm, contact Trevor on 230568 to book a table or for more information.

ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR: This month the Arts and Crafts Fair will be running across the weekend of September 26 & 27, opening times for both days will be 10.30am until 4pm - contact David on 230205 to book a table or for more information. There is always a wide variety of stalls including refreshments, why not pop in and have a browse!

DOCTOR’S SURGERIES: There will be 2 more surgeries held at the Memorial hall in September - Tuesdays 15 and 29. Please book your appointment through the Rye Medical Centre.

CHURCH SERVICES: This Sunday there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at Peasmarsh church at 10am.
