Peasmarsh

The Memorial hall was packed last Saturday night for the Peasmarsh Quiz, it was lovely to see some new faces there as well as the regulars. These Quiz nights are always a lot of fun, hopefully the new people all enjoyed themselves and will also become regulars. Many thanks to everyone whose hard work makes these evenings so enjoyable; I will let you know the date for the next Quiz soon!

I’m sure you will all have read the piece in this month’s Peasmarsh Periodical regarding fly tipping and fly posting. As pointed out, both activities are illegal and unsightly, let’s try and keep our village free of them.

A reminder that bookings for the Monday Lunch club should be made by phoning 230324, by the Friday before if possible.

The Memorial Hall Committee has found it necessary to change the date of their AGM. This has now been postponed to June 4. Other Annual meetings coming up are the Parochial Church Council AGM at Beckley Church on Monday April 28 at 7pm and the Peasmarsh Parish Council Annual Assembly at the Memorial Hall at 8pm on Tuesday May 6.

Apologies for the incorrect date given in the Peasmarsh Periodical for the Mothering Sunday Family Service at Beckley church - this will be at 10am on Sunday March 30 and not April 30 as stated.

As of February 28 this year the parish of All Saints, Beckley and St Peter and St Paul, Peasmarsh is now part of a united Benefice with the parish of Brede and Udimore. The two will remain as separate parishes within the Benefice and Father Bill will continue to look after the pastoral needs of this parish. Father Martin Harper, who is already a familiar figure at Peasmarsh School, will be in charge overall, and will soon be inducted into this parish at a special service at one of our churches. (As the most recent induction, of Father Christopher, took place at Beckley, it is more than likely that this service will be at Peasmarsh).

This Sunday there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at Peasmarsh church at 10am.
