I must start by wishing you all a Happy Easter, and you know where I live if you have too many Easter Eggs - donate chocolate to your Village Voice!

Please support Jempsons’ Boot Fair on Easter Monday April 1 in aid of Rye Bonfire Society. Jempsons have Charity Boot Fairs on several Bank Holidays throughout the year, always in aid of local charities so go along and grab some bargains!

As I’m sure you have all seen in the Peasmarsh Periodical, the Rye 10 Road Race will be held again this year on Sunday May 26, starting at 10am. Volunteers are needed to marshal the race and help run water stations also. The marshals are essential to ensure runners safety by managing road junctions as well as providing very necessary water stations; volunteers are also needed to man the car park, hand out medals and clear up during and after the race! It is hoped that 2-300 runners may take part this year - more information is available from www.nice-work.org.uk ; to volunteer please contact Martin or Cathy Burke on 01797 230009 or David or Hilary on 01797 230205.

A reminder that Deirdre Bull is organising a “spring clean” of the church during the morning of Easter Saturday March 30 from 9.30am. Volunteers appreciated!

I’m sorry to bring this subject up yet again, but more residents are having trouble with - you’ve guessed it - dog poo. It really isn’t rocket science to clear up after your dog; someone with a large (!) dog has been letting it do it’s thing in The Maltings area and leaving it for all to enjoy. Not. Please please pick it up!!

This Easter there will be a service today (Good Friday) at 12 noon at Peasmarsh church, an Easter Vigil at Beckley - Service of Light and Profession of Faith at 8pm on Saturday March 30, and on Easter Sunday 8am Holy Eucharist at Beckley, 10am Family Easter Service at Beckley and 3pm Holy Eucharist at Peasmarsh.
