Liam Ward, from Nature Valley, said: “We’ve had such a great response from the public wherever we have been across the UK and are keen to see the local community come along and have a go.

“It is an opportunity for the local community to enjoy the spirit of the upcoming London 2012 Games in their local area.”

Stephen Jempson said: “This will be a fun day for all the local community to participate in.

“Jempsons are very proud that they have been selected to host this event as very few Independent retailers get the opportunity to participate on a major scale such as this.

“We are gearing up for a lot of big events next week in our stores and cafes as the Torch passes through Rye, Battle and Hastings.”
