I hope everyone in Peasmarsh has a peaceful Easter with all the chocolate eggs they can eat. If you receive too many, my address is at the top of this column..

Some good news to start with this week - many congratulations from family and friends in Peasmarsh to Sharon (Goldsmith) and Richard (Piggott) who got married on Thursday March 29 after being together for 25 years ! Nice one!

Thank you to all the people who came along and supported the Peasmarsh Guides’ table sale last Saturday - a total of around £140 was raised for funds.

The next Peasmarsh Quiz will take place on April 14 at the Memorial hall, all welcome, £5.50 entrance which includes a ploughman’s supper, all funds raised go towards the hall fund so will benefit us all!

On Sunday April 22 there will be a Diamond Jubilee Year Archive Exhibition at the Memorial hall, if you have any memorabilia of the Coronation please bring it along. Entrance to the exhibition will be free and refreshments will be available all day.

Advance notice of the Annual Parish Assembly, to be held at the Memorial hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday April 25. A chance to inspect and discuss the finalised plans for the hall refurbishment, and have your say about the new activities planned for when it re-opens.

Today (Good Friday) there will be a service of Good Friday liturgy and Proclamation of the Cross at 12 noon in Peasmarsh church; on Saturday there will be a service at Beckley church at 8pm - Easter Vigil, service of Light, Exsultet and Profession of Faith. On Easter Sunday the 8am and 10am services are at Beckley church; there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at Peasmarsh church at 3.30pm.
