Dibby Whale, who is a business stuides teacher at Collyer’s in Horsham, said her children Ernie, 13; Lysander, 12; Constance, 11; Elizabeth, nine; and Arrietty, seven, asked friends and family to donate lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand creams, soaps, energy bars, sweets, mints, coffee and biscuits and then made a total of 80 comfort packs.

She said: “I was later told that they were so lovely and thoughtfully put together that they were kept back especially for intensive care staff and made some of the team cry happy tears.
