Curds & Cases, run by Brighton chef and restauranteur Phil Bartley and drinks expert Steve Pineau, is opening in Montague Quarter on Saturday, February 12.

The restaurant offers more than 100 different, locally sourced cheese and charcuterie to eat in or takeaway and there will also be an exciting outside space for dinning al fresco in the spring and summer.

The range of food will be overseen by Phil, founder of GB Charcuterie, and will showcase artisan, British produce made by small producers across the UK. Hot food will also be served, bringing several options inspired by traditional deli menus, such as stuffed pastries and croque monsieur.

The drinks selection will have a choice of over 300 European wines carefully selected by Steve Pineau of Latelier du Vin, which can be enjoyed inside or taken away.

The pair said they recognised independent wine shops are a bit thin on the ground in Worthing, so it was always an idea for Phil and Steve to bring something different to the area.

Phil said: “I’ve had my eye on Worthing for a while. We loved the idea of joining some of the really great food and drink businesses Worthing has to offer, including Pitch, Crabshack, The Whiskey Rooms, Macmillans, Bottle & Jug Dept, The Brookstead and many more!”

Phil and Steve’s aim is to take Curds & Cases to a new location to build relationships with local people and suppliers while sharing their love of local, artisan products.

Much like their current wine bar and delicatessen in Western Road, Hove, they hope to run wine, cheese and charcuterie evenings which highlight the best of local, artisan products and their pairings.
