The Brickmaker’s, which opened in Bexhill on 2nd November 2019, is one of the South East’s premier cask beer venue’s offering up to seven ever changing cask ales from local, regional and national breweries. Four traditional still ciders are also available alongside bottled and canned beers from some of the UK’s top micro-breweries. The Brickmaker’s recently showcased its 200th different cask beer – not bad for a small micropub that’s been shut for a third of the time it’s been in existence.

Co-owner Martin Payne said: “Despite Covid 19 it has been an incredibly successful year, which we have seen through with the support of an amazing band of loyal customers. We’ve also had great support from many of the local breweries that supply us. Although not a complete surprise, the latest announcement of a further lockdown is a real body blow for the business and the sector generally”.

Other co-owner, Robin Hill paid tribute to the staff team: “We have loyal and hard working bar staff who’ve supported us through the months of closure”.

The micropub is due to re-open again at the end of this latest lockdown on December 3, Government pronouncements notwithstanding.

In the meantime, due to a late change in Government policy, the Brickmakers will be open for take-outs during the lockdown period but these gave to be pre-ordered by contacting the pub.
