Appeal for West Sussex families to consider adoption

AN appeal has been made by West Sussex County Council for families to consider adoption.

Every year, the county council finds adoptive families for between 40 to 50 children in West Sussex.

This year, people are being encouraged to adopt the children who wait the longest – such as older children, children with disabilities, brothers and sisters, and children from some black and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Cabinet member for children and families, Pete Bradbury, said: “In an ideal world every child would grow up in a stable home environment, loved by those around them.

“Sadly, that isn’t always the case, which is why we are looking for more families to seriously consider adoption.”
