Battle scarecrow festival set to return

Organisers of the festivals have said it will run from June 27 to July 18.

Margaret Emeleus, from the festival, said, “Alongside the colourful creations of the Battle Yarn Bombers, your scarecrows will be contributing towards a festival that showcases the best summer floral displays that Battle has to offer, putting a smile on everyone’s faces.”

Margaret said scarecrows need to be a ‘traditional style’ and to a height of about 5ft.

Residents can display their creations in front gardens and businesses are encouraged to get involved by putting scarecrows in shop windows/fronts.

The competition is free to enter and prizes will be awarded to the best entries.
