Mayor Phil Woodall was in attendance for the unveiling, which was carried out by Anita Watkins and Ben Bowers, who were involved in the early days of the Bognor Regis parkrun and have been race directors over the years.

The bench also celebrates the lives of Peter Chittenden, Laura Bagnall and John Blakely who were inspirations to both experienced and new converts to the running world – and their families were also present, having travelled from Kent, Uxbridge and Worthing for the event.
