Brighton care worker wins at national awards

A carer from Brighton has been recognised for his outstanding work at a national awards ceremony.

Ebrahim Razavi, who has worked at Maycroft Manor Care Home, in Carden Avenue, since 2014, won the Best Dementia Carer title at the National Dementia Care Awards this month (November 7).

He said:

“It really hasn’t sunk in yet and I replay the moment my name was called out on the night over and over,”

“This is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Everyone who was in the room on the night and the ones who continue to get up on a daily

basis and strive to improve the lives of some of the country’s most vulnerable people are all winners in my eyes.”

General manager at Maycroft Manor Ian Cole said: “It was an honour and privilege to be present to hear Ebrahim’s name being called for the ‘Dementia Carer of the Year’ award.

“This award vindicates all the hard work, amazing care, and fantastic engagement he has shown over the last five years... The whole home is proud of this fantastic achievement.”

First established in 2009 by The Journal of Dementia Care, the National Dementia Care Awards acknowledge care providers and individuals who make a significant contribution to the quality of life of people living with dementia.
