Catapult incident at West Sussex village beauty spot sparks warning

A warning has been sounded after people were spotted using a catapult near wildlife at a West Sussex village beauty spot.

The incident happened this week at Tanyard Field at Cagefoot Lane in Henfield and was reported to Henfield Parish Council which posted the warning on social media.

It said: “We are aware of reports of individuals using a catapult at the Tanyard. Animals are protected under laws including the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Animal Welfare Act 2006, which makes it an offence to inflict unnecessary suffering on wildlife.
