Colourful ‘Heart of Seaford’ mural by Sussex artist unveiled by Wave Active
A colourful new mural has been unveiled in Seaford.
The piece, which is designed by Sussex based artist Alice Humphreys, can be seen decorating the outside of the Wave Active Digital Hub on Clinton Place.
Lewes District Council (LDC) said the mural depicts the people, places, activities and experiences that make Seaford ‘such a distinctive and thriving community’.
LDC added that the ‘Heart of Seaford’ mural also reflects Wave Active’s vision for Clinton Place as a welcoming hub where people can find opportunities to become more active, improve wellbeing, explore local experiences and connect with the community.

Duncan Kerr, chief executive of Wave Active, said: “This mural is a joyful expression of what makes this part of East Sussex so unique. The ‘Heart of Seaford’ captures the pulse of the town, and we’re very excited to celebrate it with the local community.”
The mural unveiling took place on Saturday, July 11, at 10.30am and residents, community groups, visitors and local businesses were invited to the celebration.
LDC said Alice’s mural took shape over the past few weeks and said it has an ‘illuminated heart’ at its centre, which is a symbol of connection, community and wellbeing. Wave Active switched on the heart for the first time at the unveiling.
Alice said: “I wanted the mural to reflect the idea that a healthy, thriving community is built through the many small moments, activities and relationships that connect us every day. Ultimately, I hope the mural becomes something people feel proud of, a colourful reminder of the energy, creativity and community that are a part of Seaford.”
